So my 30th birthday yesterday was very nice. I had a coupon for a buy one, get one free at Sweet Tomatoes, so Steve and I had a huge lunch. We were going to go see “Iron Man” afterwards, but the timing didn’t work out right, so we spent the afternoon on a fruitless search for a good deal on a web design book.
Had dinner at Mom and Dad’s – hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, etc. Delicious. We followed that with a heart attack in chocolate form: a chocolate ganache cake from Publix. Again, delicious.
Turns out my family is super generous. Steve got me a very nice griddle/grill from Cuisinart. The plates come out, and they’re dishwasher safe, so I think I might actually use this. (My other griddle never got used because it was such a pain to clean.)
I also got a beautiful Coach handbag from my parents and sisters. I was very, very surprised. I had been looking at them a few months ago with Rebecca, but decided I couldn’t afford it and got a much cheaper bag from TJ Maxx instead. This one is so nice, I don’t think I’ll ever let it out of my sight.
The in-laws gave me a lovely bowl that I can microwave and bake in, and it has a matching trivet and basket for serving. I decided to leave it out on my counter and keep fruit in it when it’s not in use.
So I guess overall turning 30 wasn’t so bad. How can I complain when I got a Coach bag out of the deal?
